How to commission a portrait:
1) Get in touch and tell me you'd like me to do you a drawing, and who or what it is of. I do people, families, even such events as wedding anniversaries and portraits of animals.
The size is up to you.
2) You Dropbox me information on the person (or animal)-some photos, favourite sayings, colours, friends, places, objects; anything you think is relevant to the persons life.
Anything you'd like to be included in the drawing.
3) I start the drawing, keeping you updated with its progress, and then once your completely unique work of art is finished, I post it off to you and then Dropbox you a high resolution scanned version of the final drawing.
It's that easy. Have a look at the portraits below.
* Payment-Half on commission and the remainder when the drawing is completed.
This piece is for Vincent and Hannah and Oliver.
Based on Oliver's poem for his brother, Sacha, who died last year.
Also with lines spoken about Sacha at his funeral.
I haven't met Hannah or Vincent or Oliver, they live in the UK and I am now in the US.
But we have a mutual friend so I had heard about the family before I left the UK.
Vincent sent me all the material for this drawing via Dropbox, and I learned about Sacha from what his brother wrote, and I think I learned something about Hanna and Oliver and Sacha from doing this drawing.
Toward the end of the drawing I realised I had a big gap on the top, and so I stamped 'sacha loved' twice, because it seems that Sacha loved a lot of things, as kids do, and loved them a lot.
I'll meet Vincent and Hannah and Oliver in a couple of weeks when I give this drawing to them.
I am very much looking forward to meeting them.
Sarah Woods asked me to make her a drawing.
This is what she asked for- "You know all the stars and little drawings you have on the universe drawing I really like that .... So can you just do your thing and it will be a surprise. I totally trust you to make something colourful unique and fabulous..."
And I did!
The Babic-Labovitz family portrait
Felix Familia Sempre-Jeff and La sent me images of themselves, their children and the children's nanny.
I asked for quotes from the kids, things they did together as a family, dates of Jeff and La's marriage and the birthdays of everyone.
This is their family portrait.
It's gel roller ball, blank ink and part print, A3 on white paper.
Portraits of Marcus and Adam Neville
Their mum and dad gave me images of the boys; images of their favourite toys, sayings they liked to say and information about their life.
I compiled all that information and imagery into these portraits..
It was a joy to draw the Marcus, and his identical twin brother, Adam
